Roy J. Knowles, 75, of Lafayette Route 12, died Monday (May 6, 1969) in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been ill one month. A retired farmer, he had lived east of Attica for 32 years before moving to the Lafayette area eight years ago. Born Jan. 15, 1894, near Greenhill, Ind., he was a son of Ephriam and Elizabeth Watkins Knowles. He was married in 1922 to Agnes Rector who survives. Also surviving are a son, Sherman L. Knowles of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Sikes of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Dora Mustin of Lafayette, and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Roemer Funeral Home in Attica 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rex Marrs officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery east of Attica. - jlr
